You may want to put on your own tunes for this video since I didn’t add any myself. I actually enjoy making these time lapses of driving. This time, I pointed the camera out the front of the vehicle by sandwiching my phone under the passenger headrest. It really is as if we are going for a ride.
In this video, I start on the outskirts of old Marietta and then get lost in the network of large connecting roads south of the city. I eventually decided to head to a nearby Chick-Fil-A to pick up a jug of sweet tea. Right before the video turns off randomly, you can see the famous Big Chicken on the right.
Then, I head towards Atlanta via I75 South. For some inexplicable reason, I decide to turn off the interstate too soon and get lost in some random suburbs. Tomorrow I will post the second half of my footage where I drive through downtown Atlanta and get lost some more.
But before we wrap up, let me examine some of the DOTS along the way.
First, I saw that Nissan Frontier taxi that keeps disappearing too fast to take a photo. This time I was victorious.

Plymouth Prowlers are a rare spot on the streets.
What is that? A Chevelle?
Well, that about wraps this up. What did you think?

This is the soundtrack that is appropriate for your video.

At 0:56, that dealer up on the hill used to always have old Porsche’s. This was like 10+ years ago. Also, around 3:38, I could’ve sworn I’d gotten lost at that strip mall. I exited wrong off of 75 trying to go into the city for something. I think it’s barely the outskirts of Atlanta, as I know the Windy Hill exit is where 285 connects. This was past that because I normally use Windy Hill for 75 South or 285 access.

I’m not sure it was quite that goofy but it is a good suggestion. Isn’t this public domain? I feel like I’ve heard enough in diverse enough situations that it has to be.

Yeah I somehow just managed to bumble my way into the city. I exited way too soon to try to approach it from somewhere that was not 75. And somehow it is always just off Windy Hill where I get lost, but I usually end up fumbling around the Cobb Galleria Centre instead. I got lost very close by though. There is just something about the massive intersections around 75 and 285 that confuses me.
I actually had intended on following Atlanta road into the city but I turned the wrong way onto it so I decided to go ahead and get the Chic-Fil-A sweet tea and just set it by a foot vent to keep it cool. Then I took 75 south to save time.

The way you went down and around on Atlanta Road south of the square I’m pretty sure you were lost in Marietta.

You are correct. I had intended to follow Atlanta road the other direction but I turned the wrong way, so then I decided to try to loop around to the Chick-Fil-A by the Big Chicken to get a gallon of sweet tea. I did manage to go the least efficient way possible to get there but I still got there. You can probably guess navigation is not my strongsuit.

I really have a lot of pride and over confidence in my sense of direction and ability to navigate and get around things. I have lived in the burbs northwest of Atlanta since 1991. Co ming back from the auto show 20 + years ago with my Father in law and my son I got off of I75 just around where he got off and tried to find a short cut around some construction that was on I75. I’ve never been so lost in my life. I thought I finally was on track and ready to get back on 75 North and instead I found myself southbound on Peachtree just north of down town.
‘Who is the leader’ did well to recover as fast as he did. Of course my event was pre-cell phone / google maps era. But I’m still afraid to get off of I75 around there. My Father in law, who passed away last year, never let me forget about it . I expect he is looking down now chuckling at me .

Didn't know there were so many other oppos in Atlanta.

Apparently there are quite a lot. I'm still sort of new so I couldn't name them all.

I can’t navigate or even follow directions from Google but I can use the compass on my dash. That area between 75 and 285 around Windy Hill is just hard and difficult to recover from a mistake. If I get through a drive without making a wrong turn my friends would suspect something was wrong.
I would never trust a Peachtree St to get somewhere without GPS.

The fast motion video just lends itself to Yakety Sax . If you’ve ever seen Benny Hill, you know what I mean. He ruined every fast motion travel video. I watched your video with it on, and it occasionally even syncs up. I’ll watch your video again. While I’m not super familiar with Atlanta, I’ve driven around there probably 60 or 70 times over the years. Its a bit fun to see familiar places in others’ videos.

I pretty much never leave midtown on the rare occasions I do end up there, so I got very lost, which admittedly was comical enough for that soundtrack. I always enjoy seeing familiar landmarks in film or TV since f il ming is so big in the ATL.
